Shoemaking industry standards integration, safety shoes market supervision more standardized

Recently, the new mandatory national standard “General Safety Requirements for Footwear” is about to be implemented, which will end the situation of multiple mandatory standards in parallel in the footwear industry. Previously, multiple mandatory standards in the footwear industry were implemented at the same time, and the scope of application of each standard overlapped with each other, and could not fully cover all footwear products, which caused great trouble to market supervision departments and production and sales companies.

Sang Jun, the main drafter of the new mandatory standard and secretary-general of the National Technical Committee for Footwear Standardization, said that the new mandatory standard implements the principle of “streamlining and integrating mandatory standards” and realizes the comprehensive coverage of mandatory standards for daily wear footwear products (except children’s shoes). The implementation of this standard will help strengthen the supervision of the safety shoe market, regulate market order, protect the legitimate rights and interests of consumers, and promote the healthy development of the safety shoe industry.
