Single-density PU soles are finished via one-step injection molding with uniform density across the entire sole. Featuring low production cost and simple processing, they have consistent hardness yet obvious drawbacks: overly rigid versions cause foot fatigue during long-time standing, while softer styles wear down rapidly under frequent friction. They are only suitable for low-intensity work such as light warehouse sorting and indoor simple assembly work.
Dual-density PU adopts integrated double injection molding with two functional layers. The outer contact layer is high-density hard PU with outstanding abrasion resistance and anti-slip performance to withstand rough ground friction. The inner midsole is low-density soft PU that provides effective shock absorption.
Compared with single-density PU, its prominent strengths lie in balanced performance. The tough outer layer prolongs service life greatly, while the elastic inner layer relieves plantar pressure efficiently, easing tiredness for workers standing all day long. It also avoids the one-sided defects of single-density soles.
This high-performance sole is widely applied in construction sites, machinery workshops, petrochemical factories and other high-intensity working occasions requiring long hours of walking and standing. Though slightly more costly, dual-density PU achieves a perfect combination of durability and wearing comfort, making it the mainstream option for mid-to-high-end safety work shoes.
