Types, Differences, Advantages and Disadvantages of Safety Shoe Midsoles——Yinghao Safety Shoes

The midsole is thecore buffer layerof safety shoes, located between the outsole and insole. It not only bears the pressure of the human body and absorbs impact during walking and working, but also affects the wearing comfort, support performance and service life of safety shoes. As a professional labor protection brand, Yinghao has always attached great importance to the selection and optimization of midsole materials, providing diverse midsole options for different workplace needs. This article will elaborate on the common types of safety shoe midsoles, their differences, advantages and disadvantages, helping you choose the most suitable safety shoes.
The most common type of midsole in safety shoes is the EVA midsole. Made of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, it is lightweight, soft and has excellent shock absorption performance, which can effectively reduce the impact on feet during long-term standing and walking, and relieve foot fatigue. Its advantages also include low cost and good flexibility, making it widely used in light to medium-intensity work scenarios such as warehousing, logistics and assembly. However, the EVA midsole has obvious shortcomings: poor wear resistance and easy deformation after long-term use, which will reduce the support performance of the shoes. Yinghao optimizes the EVA midsole by adding reinforced fibers, improving its wear resistance and shape retention while maintaining its lightweight and shock absorption advantages.
PU midsole is a high-performance midsole material widely used in medium to high-end safety shoes. Compared with EVA midsole, it has better elasticity, wear resistance and shape retention, and can quickly rebound after being compressed, maintaining stable support performance for a long time. It also has good water resistance and corrosion resistance, suitable for harsh working environments such as humidity and oil pollution. The disadvantages of PU midsole are higher cost than EVA, and it is prone to hydrolysis and aging in high-temperature and high-humidity environments if not properly maintained. Yinghao’s PU midsole safety shoes adopt anti-hydrolysis technology, extending the service life of the midsole and ensuring long-term reliable performance.
In addition to EVA and PU midsoles, there are also specialized midsole types such as steel plate midsoles and latex midsoles. Steel plate midsoles are mainly used to enhance the anti-puncture performance of safety shoes, suitable for construction, mining and other scenarios with sharp objects, but they are heavy and affect comfort. Latex midsoles have excellent softness and fit, but poor wear resistance and short service life. Yinghao recommends choosing midsole types according to work intensity and environment: EVA midsole for light-duty and comfort needs, PU midsole for medium to heavy-duty and harsh environments, and steel plate midsole for scenarios requiring anti-puncture protection. All Yinghao safety shoe midsoles strictly comply with international standards, balancing comfort, protection and durability to guard every step of frontline workers.
